About us

The Chatham Islands Enterprise Trust was established to promote the economic development and well-being of the Chatham Islands. The Trust owns and operates the island’s infrastructure companies.

Key industries on the Chatham Islands are farming, fishing and tourism, with a particular emphasis on eco-tourism.

Our Subsidiaries

  • Chatham Islands Airport Ltd controls and manages the Inia William Tuuta Memorial Airport on Chatham Island. It is the home of Air Chathams Ltd who operate services to the island from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as well as a Cessna service to Pitt Island.

  • The Waitangi Port Facilities operated by Chatham Islands Ports Company (CIPL), includes the Cargo and Fishermen’s Terminal owned by the Crown and the fuel storage, livestock yards, boat haul-out area, small craft public wharf and previously existing cargo shed owned by the port company.
